Benton County Sheriff's Office

Benton County Sheriff's Office works from Warsaw, Missouri, policing a county whose lake country includes Truman Lake and the Lake of the Ozarks and Osage River waters, with protected prairie to the north. The Patrol Division answers calls across the county, while the Administrative Division, made up of civilian staff and commissioned deputies, serves civil papers, runs court services at the Benton County Courthouse, tracks evidence, enters offense reports and handles budget, payroll and personnel; records requests are accepted on weekdays and can take up to three days. Everyone arrested is booked at the Benton County Detention Facility, which keeps separate housing for men, women and isolation and holds both pretrial detainees and sentenced inmates, including those awaiting transfer to the Missouri Department of Corrections. Jail sergeants, correctional officers and full-time transport officers each complete at least forty hours of detention training approved by the state. K9 Rydor, a Belgian Malinois trained through the Missouri Police Canine Association, detects methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin and handles tracking, apprehension, article searches and building and vehicle searches. The office also posts an inmate roster, registered offender lists, concealed carry information and an online crime tip form.
