Franklin County Sheriff's Office

Patrol in Franklin County, North Carolina runs around the clock on four squads, each supervised by a lieutenant, a sergeant and a corporal, with three K-9 teams backing them up across roughly 495 square miles. Deputies answer 911 calls, serve arrest warrants and make residential and business security checks between calls. The Criminal Investigations Division splits its caseload among major crimes, persons crimes, property crimes and financial crimes, and it also houses a Drug Unit that sits on a multi-agency narcotics task force, a domestic violence unit and a City County Bureau of Investigations team that processes major crime scenes at any hour. A Special Operations Group targets street-level drug sales, school resource officers work inside county schools, and the Civil Division serves summonses, domestic violence protective orders, garnishments and writs of possession and conducts sheriff's sales on money judgments. Everything is run out of the Franklin County Law Enforcement and Detention Complex in Louisburg, which also holds the county jail.
