Delaware County Sheriff's Office serves Delaware County, Oklahoma, with a mission of preventing crime, running the county jail and handling civil process, and of detecting and prosecuting offenders when crimes occur. Patrol deputies cover rural areas, small towns and highways, responding to crimes, domestic disturbances, crashes and civil disputes, serving arrest warrants and delivering subpoenas, restraining orders and eviction notices. The civil process unit serves and executes papers from courts, agencies and attorneys in Oklahoma and other states, such as summonses, evictions, protective orders, replevin orders and tax warrants, for a $50 fee whether the papers come from in state or out of state. Sex offender information is published for registrants living in the county under 57 O.S. sec. 581-590.2, the state's Sex Offenders Registration Act. A volunteer Mounted Patrol Unit, formed on June 1, 2019 with privately owned horses, deploys to neighborhoods, parks and crowded events, assists with crowd control, missing-person searches and honor guard details, and visits schools and community meetings as an ambassador for the office. Residents can also search in-custody inmates, view sheriff sales, look into careers and send crime tips to investigators online.
