Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department

The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) is the sheriff's agency for Bernalillo County, New Mexico. Its Administrative Services Division maintains the office's own records system, so BCSO issues police reports to the public separately from the Albuquerque Police Department; reports for cases before 2018 are handled by the Albuquerque Police Department's records division. Deputies serve judicial process as the law prescribes, provide court security for the Second Judicial District Court and the Juvenile Justice Center, and transport prisoners for court. An Extraditions Unit travels to other counties and states by car or commercial flight to return suspects for trial. The office also publishes county crime statistics, offers victim services, and warns residents that deputies never call about warrants or ask for payment.
