gov An Official Website of the Commonwealth of Kentucky Caneyville, Ky Menu Welcome Main Content On behalf of the City of Caneyville and City Commissioners, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Caneyville. Our City was founded in 1840 just below the forks of Caney Creek, for whose cane bottoms it was named. Our City is a small community with a big heart. Currently, we have just completed a new ballfield complex including new playground equipment as well as a new walking trail for our community. We are remodeling our old Caneyville High School, home of the 1962 and 1968 District and Regional Basketball Champs, both teams representing our community in the semi finals to serve as a community center. Each April the alumni meet at the school for a dinner and reunion filling our small community with many happy memories. Non-emergency: (270) 879-9701. Dial 911 for emergencies.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau (ACS 2023), Caneyville city, KY has an estimated population of 541.
