Through the intelligent use of City resources, communications, marketing, research, financial management, and community development, District Heights is able to improve the quality of life by providing residents with these necessary services. We are committed to preventing crime, reducing the fear of crime, and enhancing public safety through proactive policing, thorough investigation of criminal activity, and collaborative problem-solving with the community we serve. A fundamental component of our mission is education before enforcement. We believe lasting public safety is achieved when residents, businesses, and visitors are informed, engaged, and empowered. Accordingly, we prioritize educating the community on laws, safety practices, expectations, and available resources, using enforcement as a measured and lawful tool when education, voluntary compliance, and problem-solving efforts are insufficient.
