The Douglas County Sheriff's Office serves all of Douglas County, Georgia, from its headquarters in Douglasville. Its Civil Division serves civil process issued by the Douglas County courts and by courts elsewhere, and it executes court orders such as evictions, writs of possession and collection of other judgments. Deputies make two attempts to serve each civil action, one in daytime hours and one in the evening or at night. Outreach is handled by SCOPE, the Sheriff's Community Outreach Programs and Education division, which uses education and engagement to build trust between deputies and residents. Its other divisions cover patrol, criminal investigations, fugitives and warrants, court services, the jail, records, special operations, training and prisoner transports. The sheriff's leadership emphasizes deputies leaving their patrol cars to make positive contacts in neighborhoods.
