Henrico County's Division of Police is the police agency of Henrico County government in Virginia. Incoming calls for service are screened so each request gets a response suited to it, which helps keep enough units free and trims unnecessary responses. A Community Services section runs the Community Policing unit, pairing neighborhoods with assigned community officers, and crime prevention specialists can be requested for civic or business meetings. Owners of homes and businesses may register private security cameras so detectives can ask for footage after a crime, and a county ordinance requires registration of security alarm systems at residences and commercial sites. The division also applies CPTED (crime prevention through environmental design) review to new and existing development, and it publishes guidance for families on what to expect during an investigation in which a child is the victim.
