Jerome Police Department

Investigations at the Jerome Police Department in Idaho fall under its Support Services Captain and are handled by a detective sergeant, two detectives and two school resource officers. Detectives take cases ranging from arson, burglary, fraud, forgery and counterfeiting to robbery, rape and homicide, process crime scenes and manage evidence and property, while the school officers help with school-based cases and pitch in on general investigations during the summer. Those investigators work beyond city limits through the Magic Valley Investigators Group and the Magic Valley Critical Incident Task Force. The Uniform Services Division is the department's front line: patrol officers are first on scene for crimes in progress, emergencies and traffic collisions, enforce city ordinances along with state and federal law, assist fire and ambulance crews, and coordinate with social workers and community service workers. Part-time volunteer reserve officers carry the same duties as full-time officers. Calls for police, fire and medical help in Jerome are dispatched by the Southern Idaho Regional Communications Center, known as SIRCOMM, which also serves Gooding, Jerome, Lincoln and Twin Falls counties. The department also offers public fingerprinting by appointment for a $10 fee per card.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau (ACS 2023), Jerome city, ID has an estimated population of 12,689.
