Justice of the Peace Constables

Justice of the Peace Constables are court officers of Delaware’s Justice of the Peace Court system, appointed by the Chief Magistrate under Title 10, Chapter 28 of the Delaware Code to handle court process, maintain security and order in JP Court facilities, and perform related law-enforcement functions necessary to the dignity and integrity of the court. They are distinct from Title 24 commissioned constables employed by private or public entities. The Delaware Courts JP Court site is the public portal for the statewide court network and publishes information on constable sales of seized personal property ordered by the court.
