Nash County Sheriff's Office

Nash County, North Carolina, is served by the Nash County Sheriff's Office, which is based in Nashville. Its work is split among several divisions. A Criminal Investigations Division follows up on reports taken by patrol and opens its own investigations into illegal activity in the county. A K-9 unit within patrol helps locate missing persons, suspects, evidence and narcotics, with a dog assigned to each patrol division and to the Highway Interdiction Team, and it supports the Narcotics Division. Narcotics investigators use undercover work and joint operations with the State Bureau of Investigation and the Tar River Regional Task Force. A court-focused division handles courtroom operations, courthouse security and civil process including foreclosures, evictions and writs of execution. The office recruits deputies who already hold BLET certification.
