Paducah Police Department

Paducah Police Department is the city police agency for Paducah in McCracken County, Kentucky, and dates its founding to 1834. The department is authorized 78 sworn officers and also employs 20 telecommunicators plus 10 civilian staff members, with captains and sergeants supervising the sworn ranks. Although Paducah's resident population is about 25,000, the city serves as a regional hub for medical care, shopping and lodging, and the department notes that the daytime population can climb toward 100,000. People who need follow-up after a report are sent to the courthouse office of the County Attorney, and bonds are paid at the McCracken County Jail. The agency compiles an annual report covering the work of its divisions and specialized units.
