Power County Sheriff's Office

Every 911 call placed in Power County, Idaho, lands at the sheriff's office communications center, which serves as the county's public safety answering point. Six full-time communications deputies staff the phones and radios around the clock, taking emergency calls for police, fire, search and rescue and ambulance, and they dispatch not only sheriff's deputies but also the American Falls Police Department, Power County Ambulance, the American Falls city and rural fire departments and the Rockland Fire Department. Residents who cannot safely speak can text 911 in a medical or police emergency. The office's Civil Division serves subpoenas, summonses and complaints, juvenile summonses, orders to show cause, notices of trustee sale and writs of execution, attachment, restitution and possession, along with warrants of distraint, though staff cannot give legal advice to the people filing them. A Crime Stoppers line pays rewards for anonymous tips, and the office frames its mission around community partnership, proactive crime prevention and transparency with the public.
