The Randolph County Sheriff's Office is the countywide law enforcement agency for Randolph County in central North Carolina, a county of roughly 790 square miles whose seat is Asheboro. Its headquarters sits on McDowell Road in Asheboro, and deputies also work out of satellite offices in Ramseur and Trinity. Patrol deputies are first to respond to calls and crime reports, run preventive patrols and enforce state and local laws. Detectives in the Criminal Investigations Division take on cases that need follow-up, from assaults, robberies and missing persons to burglaries, financial crimes, arson and death investigations, and prepare them for the District Attorney. The office also operates the county Detention Center on New Century Drive, supplies bailiffs who keep order and security at the courthouse, and runs a Civil Division that serves court process such as summonses, subpoenas, custody orders and writs.
