Spring Hill Police Department

Christmas gifts for children who might otherwise have none are the work of the Blue Elves, a program the Spring Hill Police Department started in 2017 and still runs each year with local businesses and faith-based groups that help identify families in need. The program's stated goal is a positive image of law enforcement among children and the wider community. Spring Hill sits south of the Kansas City metro along U.S. 169, and the Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 count gave the city 10,777 residents in 2025. The police department reports 18 commissioned officers backed by a single civilian staff member, who patrol the city daily and conduct investigations. Specialized work falls to a K9 team and a detective unit, while officers double as honor guard members, trainers for new recruits, in-service instructors and liaisons to the community. Residents can book fingerprinting by appointment at $25 per card, and the department will help any neighborhood set up a Neighborhood Watch. An online crime map shows where and when reported incidents happened and what type of offense each involved, offered as a courtesy without a guarantee of accuracy.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau (ACS 2023), Spring Hill city, KS has an estimated population of 8,691.
