The Sunland Park Police Department serves the city of Sunland Park in Doña Ana County, New Mexico. Its jurisdiction has an unusual boundary: most of Sunland Park Drive and the Sunland Park Mall fall under the El Paso Police Department rather than the city. People arrested by the department, or by other agencies in the county, are usually held at the Doña Ana Detention Center in Las Cruces. Officers draft reports at the station and submit them for supervisor review, so copies of crash and incident reports are released to involved parties only after processing, and the department is not the records custodian for other agencies. It stopped offering fingerprinting in 2013 and provides victim advocacy to help people through the legal and recovery process.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau (ACS 2023), Sunland Park city, NM has an estimated population of 17,085.
