Sunriver Police Department

Sunriver Police Department provides law enforcement for the community of Sunriver in Deschutes County, Oregon. The agency began as the Sunriver Department of Public Safety, when its first patrol officer was hired. Today six officers, two corporals and two sergeants are assigned to patrol, which answers emergency and non-emergency calls throughout the community, and the department also fields a bicycle patrol. Three officers serve on a Central Oregon CERT team. All officers must keep their certification current through Oregon's Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. Although Sunriver's year-round population is small, the area sees significant seasonal increases in visitors, especially in summer, so the department plans for sharp swings in demand for traffic safety and emergency response.
