Tazewell Police Department

The department is a full service law enforcement agency providing 24 hour service year round. The Tazewell Police Department holds the distinction of being one of the smallest agencies to hold VLEPSC accreditation. Accreditation is regarded as one of the key benchmarks for measuring the quality of an organization and the Tazewell Police Department is proud of our status. The 2025 Town of Tazewell Police Department Annual Report will highlight our efforts in crime reduction through traffic enforcement, building checks, patrols, and investigations; as well as our community involvement. Our “community first approach” includes the planning and coordination of safety and security of multiple road races, parades and festivals. We also sponsor several events which include a Community Dinner, Shop with a Cop and a Kids Fish Day, these events could not be achievable without the support from Tazewell Town and the magnitude of volunteers that show up to aide with these events. Non-emergency: (276) 988-2503. Dial 911 for emergencies.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau (ACS 2023), Tazewell town, TN has an estimated population of 2,864.
