Treasure County Sheriff's Office

Community-oriented policing that supports residents while protecting county interests is the goal set out by the Treasure County Sheriff's Office in Montana, which works under the values of honor, respect and devotion to duty. Dispatch for the county runs through Rosebud County, so calls that go unanswered at the Hysham office roll over to a dispatcher who can send a deputy or arrange a callback, and Rosebud County also posts the current warrant list and inmate roster. Civil papers must be mailed to the office with a check, and service costs a flat $50 for each person served. Records requests may be sent by mail or email and start at $5 per case number, which covers up to six pages, with $1 for each added page and a $10 charge when redactions are needed. Photo and video copies cost at least $10 per gigabyte. Crash reports come from the Montana Highway Patrol. The office provides standard and enhanced concealed weapon permit forms, a firearms course waiver, ride-along releases and witness statement forms, and it enforces county ordinances on vicious dogs and county road speed limits, along with several town of Hysham ordinances.
