Whiteside County Sheriff's Office

The Whiteside County Sheriff's Office runs the county jail in Morrison, Illinois, and posts its 2023 and 2024 annual reports online. Every jail visit must be scheduled in advance through an online inmate services vendor after a visitor registers with a photo and valid ID and is approved; walk-in visits are not accepted, and approved visitors may also see inmates by video from home. Visitors 17 and younger must come with a parent or legal guardian who brings proof such as a birth certificate or court papers. Civil process deputies serve papers for a set service fee plus mileage. Residents can submit a Citizen Complaint/Statement Form, which the office says complies with the Illinois Law Enforcement Initiative. Sex offender registration and public notification run through the OffenderWatch website. Since October 2016 the office no longer takes employment-related fingerprints for schools, nursing, towing or background checks; that work moved to the Regional Office of Education #47 in Sterling.
