Headquartered in Eureka in central Illinois, the Woodford County Sheriff's Office frames its mission around protecting lives and property, assisting crime victims and working to prevent further violence and abuse. Much of its community work runs through a Crime Prevention and Education Division, where one deputy serves as DARE officer, crime prevention officer and school resource officer. Fifth graders take Drug Abuse Resistance Education and fourth graders take Gang Resistance Education and Training. Teen drivers are reached through the Allstate Foundation Teen Safe Driving Program in Metamora, Operation Teen Safe Driving and a Focused Group campaign in Minonk. Deputies carry out alcohol compliance checks, back the CASA youth coalition's Project Sticker Shock against underage liquor sales and work with Tri-County Crime Stoppers and Neighborhood Watch. Seniors are served by TRIAD crime safety efforts and the File of Life and 911 cell phone collection, and a prescription drug drop-off program keeps medicine out of water sources. The office also has a certified child safety seat technician through Safe Kids, advises an Explorer post, joins bike rodeos and runs a Christmas project for children in need. Civil process fees are posted by destination town.
