This essential 4-hour training program, "Canine Encounters," is designed to enhance law enforcement officers' ability to handle situations involving dogs with confidence and professionalism. Effective January 1, 2016, this class is mandated within two years of completing the Basic Peace Officer Course. It also fulfills requirements for Intermediate and Advanced Peace Officer Proficiency Certification.
