Animals play many different roles in the lives of the people we serve, but terms such as “service animal,” “emotional support animal,” “therapy animal,” and “pet” are not interchangeable. Understanding these distinctions is essential for social service providers seeking to offer informed, equitable, and inclusive support. During this webinar, participants will decode assistance-animal language and learn to distinguish among the different roles animals may play. The discussion will clarify the protections and access rights afforded to service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act
