LAS VEGAS — Picture your typical alien from outer space. What comes to mind? Green skin, big eyes, and an affinity for crashing UFOs in suburban backyards? Well, that's precisely what a Las Vegas family seemed to think when they dialed 911, claiming to have witnessed a UFO crash and some extraterrestrial visitors in their own backyard.
The Las Vegas Metro Police Department recently released 911 calls and body-worn camera footage from the bizarre incident that occurred on May 1st, according to ABC7. In the 911 call, a man can be heard describing the seemingly non-human entities that had suddenly appeared in his backyard.
The caller recounted how he, his father, and his brother were innocently working on a truck when they saw something fall from the sky, complete with lights and a dramatic impact. As if that wasn't enough, the trio then heard footsteps and spotted a couple of eight-foot-tall beings with massive eyes staring at them. "They're very large. They're like eight foot, nine-foot, 10 foot," the caller informed the 911 dispatcher. "And they're not human. One hundred percent, they're not human."
Interestingly, a responding officer admitted to looking into the family's claims because another officer had reportedly seen something similar in the sky just eight minutes earlier, as per USA Today. The officer stated, “I’m not going to BS, you guys. One of my partners said they saw something fall out of the sky, too, so that’s why I’m kind of curious. It’s weird just the fact that our partner saw something at the exact time."
After a preliminary investigation, the police were unable to find any evidence of the alleged alien encounter and closed the case as "unfounded." Meanwhile, the House Oversight Committee is in the "early stages" of starting a hearing on UFOs due to unconfirmed claims that the U.S. found crashed alien spacecraft – claims that the Pentagon denies as unsubstantiated.
So, was it an actual alien encounter or just a vivid imagination at play? We may never know, but one thing's for sure: this story will provide some much-needed comic relief for law enforcement professionals everywhere.
