Participants will learn essential terminology and concepts related to the use of force, including significant court decisions such as Graham vs. Connor. The course covers the Dynamic Resistance-Response Model, enhancing officers' response strategies during encounters.
Border Crime Prosecution Resources
Officers will gain insights into specific resources dedicated to border crime prosecution, focusing on areas such as human trafficking, human smuggling, stash houses, criminal trespass, U-VISA processes, and handling juvenile offenders.
Criminal Organizations at the Texas-Mexico Border
The course delves into the operations of criminal organizations at the Texas-Mexico border. Participants will study the activities and identifiers of Mexican cartels, Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs), and Texas-based gangs. Additionally, the program addresses criminal counterintelligence threats and differentiates between human trafficking and human smuggling.
Drug and Human Smuggling Tactics
A thorough overview of drug smuggling tactics, including common concealment methods, will be provided. Participants will also explore human smuggling techniques, indicators, and the technology used to combat these issues.
