This mixed training event is designed to provide comprehensive and specialized learning opportunities for law enforcement professionals. The event consists of three key components: AXON TASER X2 recertification, NHTSA SFST refresher, and ALERRT ERASE training.

Firstly, participants will refresh their knowledge on NHTSA SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Testing). This portion of the event will cover important skills such as identifying impaired drivers and conducting standardized tests to determine their level of impairment. Participants will also learn about current laws and regulations related to driving under the influence. The SFST refresher will take place from 8am to noon on May 13th.

Next, the participants of this event will undergo recertification for the AXON TASER X2. This training will ensure that they are up-to-date with the latest techniques and procedures for effectively using the TASER in their line of work. Participants will learn about the safe and proper use of the TASER, as well as how to handle different situations in which it may be necessary to use it. This component of the training will take place on May 13th from 1pm to 5pm.

In addition to these two components, participants in group 1 will also attend ALERRT ERASE training on May 15th through 17th at the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Academy Campus. This training program is specifically designed for law enforcement officers who may encounter active shooter situations or other high-risk events. During this intense three-day training, participants will engage in realistic scenarios that simulate real-life situations they may face. They will learn strategies for responding quickly and effectively to minimize casualties and neutralize threats.

The event outline is as follows:
Day 1 (May 13th):
8:00am-12:00pm - NHTSA SFST refresher training for group 1
1:00pm-5:00pm - AXON TASER X2 recertification for group 1

Day 2-4 (May 15th - 17th):
8:00am-5:00pm - ALERRT ERASE training for both groups (group 1 and group 2)

This mixed training event offers a unique opportunity for law enforcement professionals to enhance their skills and knowledge in various areas crucial to their job. The combination of TASER, SFST, and ALERRT ERASE trainings will equip participants with the necessary tools to handle challenging situations effectively and ensure public safety.

Required Equipment: Good attitude, open mind, pen and paper, duty gear, clothing conducive for crawling around on the ground (Class D), water and or hydration system, body armor, long gun, and inclement weather gear (majority of course is outside regardless of weather conditions)
