The TCOLE Basic Instructor (#1014) training is a comprehensive program specifically designed for law enforcement officers who wish to become instructors in the field. This training program prepares officers to effectively facilitate and deliver high-quality instruction to their colleagues, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles as instructors.

Prerequisites:
1. Must be a currently licensed peace officer in the state of Texas.
2. Must have at least two years of experience as a commissioned peace officer.
3. Must have completed the TCOLE Basic Peace Officer course (#1000) or have equivalent training from an accredited academy.
4. Must have a good standing with TCOLE and not currently under disciplinary action.
5. Must have basic computer skills.
6. Must have completed at least 20 hours of continuing education within the past two years. Prior experience as an instructor or mentor in law enforcement is preferred but not required.
