Join us for an intensive and informative three-day course where you will gain critical skills in Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM). This course is designed to prepare professionals to effectively identify, assess, and manage potential threats to public safety.

What You Will Learn:

  • Define and understand targeted violence and BTAM.
  • Learn to differentiate between BTAM, mental health assessments, and criminal investigations.
  • Identify key elements of the Pathway to Violence Model.
  • Apply privacy and civil rights considerations in BTAM processes.
  • Analyze real-life case studies using BTAM methods.
  • Develop comprehensive threat management plans.

  • Course Dates: 3 days of immersive learning
  • Total Training Hours: 24, plus additional non-training hours
  • Location: Classroom-based with interactive sessions
  • Equipment Provided: Computers, LCD projectors, and access to UT System Police Academy resources
