This course is designed for law enforcement officers and other public safety professionals who are responsible for traffic control and vehicle pursuits. The focus of this training is to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively use tire deflation devices as a means of safely stopping fleeing vehicles.

During this two-hour course, attendees will learn about various types of tire deflation devices and their features, such as spike strips, stop sticks, and tire spikes. Our experienced instructors will guide participants through the proper deployment techniques for each type of device, including setting up a safe perimeter, determining the appropriate distance from the fleeing vehicle, and properly positioning the device.

Additionally, participants will gain an understanding of the legal considerations surrounding the use of tire deflation devices. This includes familiarizing themselves with state laws and regulations as well as department policies regarding these tools. They will also learn about potential liability issues and how to document their actions in accordance with legal standards.
